In 2007, the IRDEIC (Research Institute on European, International and Comparative Law) replaced the IREDE (European Research Institute on Economic Law), a research group consisting of two teams: the CEDRE (Centre for European Studies, Documentation and Research) and the CERF (Tax Studies and Research Centre), which fell under the aegis of Toulouse Capitole University.
The IREDE’s transformation into the IRDEIC was necessary for achieving coherent and effective research. It also involved the enhancement of the European focus of the CERF which then became the CERFF (European Tax and Financial Research Centre), as well as the addition of the LIEu (International and European Laboratory) and the CDC (Comparative Law Centre).
